Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla
The first day of the trip starts after early-morning breakfast, where our guide will pick us up from the hotel and drive to the domestic airport terminal. Receive our boarding pass and fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) that takes about 35 minutes. The flight offers us up close views of the Himalayas and romantic landscapes of hills, farms and rivers.
On arrival to Lukla, we will begin 3 hours trek to Phakding (2640 m.). We start our trek from Lukla with a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Mt. Nupla (5885m) which can be seen in the distance is a peak atop the Kongde Ridge. We descend a mountainside path that merges into our route to Everest, with views to a wonderful valley to our right; and Mt. Kusum Kang (6367m.) to the far end. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m.)
On second day, we trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m.)for approximately five hours.Namche Bazaar (3440m) is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges and faces the Bhote Koshi to the South. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 03: Rest at Namche Bazaar (3440m.)
On third day, we take a day rest at Namche Bazaar (3440m.) for acclimatization.It is an ideal place to spend acclimatizing with the high altitude. For acclimatization we walk up to Khumjung where we can visit a monastery. We can also enjoy the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawoche, and Kwangde and so on. Or we can take an hour's walk up to Syangboche (3800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for outstanding views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867m.)
On day four, we trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867m.) for about five hours.As we climb through the forested woods, the incline eases and a splendid view appears. We continue climbing the mountainside diagonally until we come to the stone gate built by the Lamas which marks our entry into Tengboche (3860m). At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 05: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4260m.)
On day five, we trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4260m.) for approximately five hours.Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of fields enclosed by stone walls protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 06: Rest day at Dingboche (4260 m.)
On day six, we take a day rest at Dingboche (4260 m.) for acclimatization.There are some breathtaking views of the North face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as we explore this beautiful valley that leads up to Island Peak. The walk is short with a good chance to relax in the afternoon. Another option is to hike up to Chhukum, where we can enjoy the panoramic view of Island peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche peak and others. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m.)
On seventh day, we trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m.) that takes about five and a half hours.The onward journey leads north for up to 50 minutes until we come to a Mani-prayer Stupa. The trail follows a downward path to Pheriche village. Today's walk offers views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north-Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. After two hours walk, the trail from Pheriche joins near Dugla (4595m) before a small wooden bridge over the river of Khumbu glacier. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5486m.) via Gorakshep (5180m.)
On day eight, we trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5486m.) via Gorakshep (5180m.) and again back to Gorakshep for about seven hours.Trek up the valley following the rocky moraine path, view icy glacial ponds and icebergs down below the Khumbu glacier. Gorakshep is the location of the original Everest Base Camp with the new camp being further up the valley. Now the trail winds through a rocky path and the Khumbu glacier. The view of Nuptse, Lho-La and Khumbu Tse appears at the front of us. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 09: Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and then to Pheriche (4243m.)
On day nine, we trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and then to Pheriche (4243m.) for about six hours.We accomplish an early morning climb to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and enjoy the views of sunrise. From Kala Patthar we can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbu Tse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more peaks. Yaks are normally used as four-legged porters in this area. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 10: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3867 m.)
On day ten, we trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3867 m.)for approximately four hours.Tengboche is a small village with the famous Thyanboche monastery offering us splendid views of Ama Dablam, lush green hills and river views. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 11: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)
On day eleven, we trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)that takes about four and a half hours.The walk from Tengboche is mostly downhill on the main busy trail with a few steep climbs for an hour from the bridge at Phungitenga, near to Shanasha. The walk to Namche is very scenic on a long winding path. En route we will visit traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde. From Khumjung village another 30 minutes walk brings us to the village of Khunde. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2640m.)
On day twelve, we trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2640m.)for about four hours.The trails descend steeply for about one and a half hours. After that, the path has small ups and downs to Phakding via Monjo. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 13: Trek from Phakding to Lukla (2886m)
On day thirteen, we trek from Phakding to Lukla (2886m)for about three hours.Our final day's trekking follows the Dudh Koshi back down to Lukla. At the end of the day, we stay overnight at lodge.
Day 14: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Finally, on day fourteen, we take a 35 minutes flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.We take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
