Nagarkot, one of the most beautiful hill station largely famous for majestic sunrise/ sunset views, also presents us panoramic views of the Himalayas ranging from Dhaulagiri to Kanchanjunga. The village of Nagarkot, on the edge of the valley, offers splendid views of the Kathmandu Valley as well.
The hike to Nagarkot initiates with an hour drive from Kathmandu to Sankhu and then we walk to Nagarkot which takes about three and half hours. On the way, you can relish the fascinating views of Sankhu and Bhaktapur where you encounter with Changunarayan Temple. The temple carries a great historical significance and is a center of attraction for most of the trekkers. Besides, the 15th century palace of 55 windows, Durbar Square and many other historic monuments and cultural heritages beautify the glory of this place. Ultimately the hike ends with a drive back to Kathmandu which takes one and half hour.
